My fees are currently £50 per session for online video counselling.
Ubuntu is a South African concept, more a feeling than a concept really, which more or less translates - We are because of others - a value that is fundamental to me and how I work with you as it communicates a building of healthy relationships, boundaries, authenticity and honouring yourself.
Initially I like to create a safe atmosphere, listening unjudgementally, building trust so in collaboration we can find a way out of your issues. Once a strong relationship is in place I lean towards the more creative, experiential approach such as drawing, guided meditations and mindfulness providing you with tools of support and exploration. My approach is one of authenticity rather than positivity no quick easy fixes but I am 100% committed to being with you through this sometimes difficult work.
I work with individuals, 21 and over. The counselling I offer is short or longer term and can either be face-to-face or online.
AREAS I CAN HELP WITH INCLUDE:
Abuse, anger, anxiety, bereavement, depression, health issues, loss, low mood, self-esteem and trauma.
Since 2017 I have been counselling at a Women’s Centre primarily working with survivors of domestic violence and coercive control.
As someone who has experienced cancer I have a deep understanding of the complex impact of health diagnoses so am passionate in the belief of how counselling can support someone through a life threatening/altering diagnosis, its treatment, aftermath and PTSD symptoms that may appear years later. Complex family dynamics and adults who have lost a parent in childhood are also of special focus and interest to me.
Always of the creative and thoughtful slant I have a BA degree in English and Psychology as well as diplomas in Photography and Graphic Design. I am a Befriender in a scheme run in my local borough to combat adult loneliness in the community, which I find rewarding.
My in-person session rates range from £55 to £70 per hour dependent on time and location.
